Building Management Systems came in to play primarily for effective HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) Management and to cut down operational costs of HVAC systems at part loads. The erstwhile BMS system, today is used to manage not only the HVAC systems, but also integrates a host of other utilities in the building including DG sets, Lifts and Elevators, Water Management Systems, Energy Management Systems, Electrical Management Systems, UPS Systems, PAC Systems, VRV Systems etc., as also the Fire Alarm, Suppression, and Security Systems.

IBMS provides enhanced control and management of various building utilities from a single PC workstation. It also provides web monitoring of the system from a remote location.
